I caught the last 20 laps of the Gastown Grand Prix live on Vimeo from the comfort of my couch, incorporating ice cream into my race viewing. The race made me excited and inspired to get back in the saddle, yet I remain conflicted. The trepidation is still fresh. Also, I still need to replace my front wheel. I can’t justify the expense before I find out whether ICBC (a provincial crown corporation) covers any of it. I used to go into the bike room to look at my bikes. Now, the first thing I look at is the destroyed wheel.

Space Magnets and other things too.

Good morning!

It’ll probably be afternoon by the time I finish writing this. The past few weeks have been difficult, interjected with moments of joy.

I caught last Friday’s space magnet show, not just in my video game but also from my backyard. I’d read reports about the northern lights possibly being visible as far south as Victoria and didn’t pay much attention. AS FAR SOUTH AS VICTORIA? Not likely.

The Incident.

I like an excuse to eat chocolate for breakfast.

This is the dark chocolate & red berries variety of Love Crunch granola. The red berries are mere specks. The dark chocolate… is not there. I looked at the window in the bag, but I did not see a single piece. I looked inside the bag and shook the bag too.

There is no chocolate! Sometimes, when things like this happen, I just take the L because I don’t like dealing with customer service. Fortunately, the folks at Nature’s Path took me seriously.
