Monday was the last quilting class. It ended with all three layers of my quilt pinned together and a copy of the work order sent with my sewing machine to Bill Murray. The final step involves sewing the layers together, something not feasible with a temperamental sewing machine that switches up stitch lengths whenever it feels like it.
Instead of sharing something I made, here’s something Danica made:

She didn’t make the hat nor the comically large pom pom; she made the leather tag. Thanks to her, Sodapop looks like an official road racing bike:

She also included extra stickers, iron-on reflective transfers, and a leather keychain.
I’m a brand now!
And I’m already getting recognition. My road bike might make an appearance in races this year! With me as the rider, of course. One of the women I started riding with last summer asked if I was interested in racing, as she’s been talking with a few others about starting a team. I can’t get too excited about it yet: the meeting that was to happen this Sunday has been pushed to next week.
I look forward to learning whether I’ll have something to look forward to.
