“My plan has come to fruition.”

I’m delighted with how my idea to incorporate beadwork into the geode turned out.
I started this project while I was in Vancouver. I was dismayed to find that the lighting in Zoée’s place wasn’t bright enough for my liking. Apparently Zoée spent their formative years munching on endless carrots (and then, much to their mother’s annoyance, throwing the stumps behind the couch), and probably wouldn’t have had any trouble setting up tents in the dark.
While we were cooking our Christmas dinner, Zoée flipped a light switch to show me the nauseatingly institutional ambience the fluorescent tubes cast on the kitchen. My eyes lit up, “…this is perfect” (For crafting, specifically.)
So, I spent a good chunk of my time in Vancouver forming Martin Prince’s likeness in Zoée’s kitchen. Because I’d opted to use a single strand for the embroidery, I didn’t finish the project until a week after I returned home. I don’t time my projects, but this one easily took 50 hours or more to complete. I kept reminding myself, “You’ve invested over 500 hours playing Animal Crossing.”
(I still play Animal Crossing. Thanks to the latest update, Garbage Island has a hotel now.)
